For 2024, the Toyota Mirai has added a few new upgrades that are sure to turn heads. A new Elemental Silver exterior color will now be available. Toyota remains committed to putting Canadians in the driver’s seat when it comes to addressing climate change – and the Toyota Fuel Cell System that powers the Mirai demonstrates, without question, the value of embracing a multi-pathway approach to eliminating emissions. This system enables Mirai to perform essentially as an electric vehicle, while never needing to be plugged in to recharge. The hydrogen fuel cell stack at Mirai’s heart is the result of more than two decades of development and combines compressed hydrogen gas from the Mirai’s fuel tank with oxygen from the atmosphere. The resulting chemical reaction produces electricity to power the Mairi while creating water vapour as its only emission.
Built on Toyota’s GA-L platform for premium rear-wheel-drive vehicles, the Mirai features a near-perfectly balanced weight distribution, a pavement-hugging centre of gravity, and multi-link suspensions that combine to deliver grin-inducing handling and agility.
